Your goal for the first part of this level is just to make it up the branches of the tree. And if you shake the Wiimote you can drop instantly. You can hold your breath by holding the A button, hovering instead of sailing skyward.
Super mario galaxy 2 bowser full#
If you remember the balloon power-up in Super Mario World, you know what to expect here – Yoshi turns indigo and puffs up, pulling a full Violet Beauregarde and sailing into the skies. Tall Trunk GalaxyĪnother Yoshi level, this one based around a blue fruit that lets you balloon up and float around. So you're running at top speed on these walls, hoping against hope that you make it to safety before the effects of the fruit wear off and you plummet to a horrible death.
In this level, eating fiery red plants causes his sensitive bowels to catch fire, causing Yoshi to take off like a rocket, running up the sides of walls that he couldn't climb otherwise. Besides eating enemies, Yoshi can eat fruits, and different colored fruits give him different abilities.
When an enemy (or other things) get within range, you can click on them to put them into Yoshi's massive food hole. How? A very clever mechanic, actually: When you're riding Yoshi, the cursor turns into a little red dot that represents his tongue. Some planets have intricate piles of dirt on either side that you can't jump up, so you have to memorize their positions, then jump to the other side and drill through, then jump across the hills, drill back through, and so on. Well, just go to the other side of the planet and use the drill, and you'll pop out the other side inside the cage. So, let's say you see a 1up mushroom in a cage. This is where the drill power-up comes in handy.
